This high-profile review was supported by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). A UK Steering Committee chaired by Dr Rita Gardner, Director of the RGS (with IBG), and made up of leading UK academics, research funders and users of Human Geography, oversaw the process. The International Panel comprised seven leading international experts chaired by Prof. David Ley (UBC, Canada). Candidates were suggested by the UK Steering Committee, based on their record as internationally renowned research leaders in Human Geography.
